Be Heard. Repeal the Tax.

expanding the State's sales and use tax to "computer services", effective July 1, 2008.

The ease with which computer services can be provided by out-of-state competitors was underestimated in the Maryland Assembly's decision.

If we do not repeal the tax, IT work will move out of state, harming our companies, employees, and families.

The stakes are too great simply to rely on our chambers of commerce and technology councils to fight for us.They need our help! We MUST contribute to this effort ourselves or it won't succeed!

Join us. Contribute. Help ensure that ALL our legislators understand computer services in Maryland must remain tax free. Stroke a check for your future!

"The 6% sales tax on computer
services will bring cascading
harm to the state's IT industry,
local small businesses, their
workers, and IT consumers.

This tax will certainly encourage
Maryland IT users to outsource
their computer service needs to
companies located in Reston,
VA or even Bangalore, India."
